Or is it just an inspection hole considering how low down it is? No fluid comes out when I take it out.
Certainly looks like it fella (oil fill hole), i havent got a mk3 only a mk2 but its the same butterfly plug thing. You shouldnt have any oil come out when you open the plug, your only meant to fill it untill it dribbles out slightly so it shouldnt leak out if you just open it
On the mk2 (R26 anyway) the drain plug is a 10mm allen key iirc. I imagine it will either be a allen key or square plug so should be fairly easy to spot, although like i said i don't have a mk3 so don't quote me!
Not to worry, thanks for the help! I've ordered 3 litres, is that enough for the mk2? I'm guessing the capacity will be fairly similar ...
2.1 litres on the mk2 although you rarely get it all out so 2 is normally enough. I imagine 3 will be plenty enough
