  1. Hi

hopefully getting a driveshaft changed this week and assuming the gearbox oil will need doing at the same time? Anyone know what kind and how much (volume) to buy?

    Many thanks

  2. You'll need 2.5lts (so you'll probably end up buying 3ltrs)

  3. For what it's worth, I used Motul Motylgear 75w-80 Synthetic in my box after it's rebuild and it feels good.

I think mines due one so I'll be looking into this

  5. Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated!

on a side note, I drove a Mk1 mx-5 the other day, makes the megane box feel like a bowl of jelly, I kind of want one now...

  6. Is it definitely 2.5litres? For some reason I had in my head that it was only 1.1? Christ knows where I got that from lol

  7. I managed to get that much in

2 litres, you will get more in if you jack one side up

  9. I guess it's like the Clio, so jack it up really high at one side and jam in as much as you can.
Made it generally much smoother and a bit less stiff and notchy in that.

  10. Sounds about right. I'd had the gearbox out, so it was completely drained.
