Gear change warning noise

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Bossko, Mar 31, 2016.

  1. Hi,
Was out for a drive today. The rev warning beep seemed to sound early. Could this be due to the engine being cold and the limit it lower than when the engine is hot? Or am I simply imagining things.

    Cheers

  2. Yeah, you shouldn't take the engine very high when its cold anyway mate.

  3. Ive not noticed that. When my car had a dodgy thermostat it would not get to the redline and from memory I would not hear that beep but I could be wrong. Of course if you set it on the RS monitor you can have it come on as early as 2000rpm before redline I think!
