I was wondering if any one could give some insight on a niggle I'm experiencing at the moment. I've had my car over a year now. When I first bought it it had 31k on it now has 58k. When driving along and shifting down (particularly 3rd to 2nd) I noticed (when the driver window was down) that there was a clinking noise when the clutch engaged. I thought this was either the gear box or clutch engaging or even the sound of the LSD mechanism. However for the past month or so I've noticed this clinking noise does not happen. Instead I now get a juddering, multiple thudding sound coming from below the gear lever. Any one else had this, is it an early warning sign of something ? Any help or insight appreciated.
