Fuel system recommendations

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by not normal dan, Jul 7, 2015.

  1. So I currently run a r26 287bhp 312lbft, usual injectors, decat etc.

Now been thinking long and hard and really can't see me selling the car for a while as it really fills all my needs and without spending big money I don't think I will get anything that's masses more quicker on a circuit.

Now I've been thinking of going down the forged engine route and hybrid as it pulls half decent numbers and it seems pretty safe.

Now I've seen a few of the guys switching to new fuel setups. Swirl pot, inline 044 new rail with return etc and Paul did say the fuel system is a weak spot so what you guys running and where you getting them from????

    Cheers in advance

  2. Built it all my self.

Standard pump. To 2l swirl pot. 044 pump. New lines from the swirl pot to the regulator in the bay (sytec) with a return. Onto the standard rail.

  3. How much power you after Dan ?

  4. I'm on r26r clutch still. So I'm hoping for 350/350 so my clutch should be ok I hope.

  5. Got any pics of your rail mate? I've already been offered a 044 and swirl for good money off a good mate of mine who ran it in his 450 bhp mk3 astra and even a half decent fuel cell if I wanted

I'd like 350-370bhp Steve but I've always wanted to build a nice forged engine for years now. Rebuilt my old Saxo engine to a nice spec but it was done on a budget as I was still an apprentice at the time but it made decent numbers for what it was

  6. It's just a standard fuel rail. The return is off the fpr sytec unit which is bolted to the side of the head.

  7. Ktec put the fpr in the boot on there own systems.

  8. Sweet, I've seen some folk running fancy alloy rails etc but your setup sounds bang on.

Also I've noticed on track when the tank starts getting low you start getting the odd pop when hard Corning etc which I can only put down to fuel starv

  9. as long as the return is close to the rail as possible I'm pretty sure it's fine.

  10. Can tell you the r26r clutch is fine with 360ftlb torque going through it!
