Hi Guys, Back in the summer i had the chance to detail a Ford Focus Rs. The car is very well cared for but had a range of defects from previous ownership. This ranged from light swirling to some deeper scratches. The car was treated to a single stage machine polish with Sonax Perfect Finish. A few befores: Wheels & Arches First using AF imperial, APC and Iron Out: Snow Foamed with VP Advanced Neutral snow foam: The car was then washed using the 2BM, Iron X'd, De-tarred using Tardis and clayed with I4d medium Clay. Very little contamination remained thanks to the Iron X and Tardis. The car was then dried and paintwork depths were measured: The readings were a little low in places showing evidence of previous machining. An example of the defects in the paintwork: Some correction shots. Correction was completed using the Rupes Bigfoot on a polishing pad with Sonax Perfect Finish: And finally some afters, the car was finished in Sonax Net shield: Thanks for reading. Hopefully I'll start to get my megane up to scratch over the coming weeks, so expect to see another write up or two.

Gotta say I love the RS (not as much as the megane tho) even if it is a bit fat, can't beat the snarling exhaust note. I'm thinking of getting a machine to polish my R26- any tips on which is best for a complete novice. Don't wanna ruin my paint work but would love to correct the swirls.
Yeah the RS is an awesome car and it has one of the best sound tracks going. For a complete novice i would say DAS 6 Pro as the machine. (£100 Detailing World Group Buy) Combination is a difficult one though as there is no best combination for every type of paint. A possibility could be buying meguiars 105 and 205 with a selection of Foam pads and working your way up from the lightest combination until you find one that gives the desired results. If your unsure about using a polisher get yourself on a training day. I know Clean Detail in Yorkshire run them regularly!
Cracking job on the paint work. But did anyone notice the almost identical Focus RS in the background of the last pic? At least rs meganes aren't that common, haha
Thats an ST in the background but hes just bought a Green RS. Yeah way to common where i come from!!! Have only seen 1 other megane rs since i bought mine back in October!
