Hi Guys, I bought my R26 a week ago, going great so far but the driver floor mat is driving me nuts! Theres nothing to fix it in place so it keeps slipping forward under the pedals to the point where I got serious clutch slip because the mat was caught on the clutch pedal! I don't know if this is because my mats aren't genuine or what but see below pics. The mats seem like genuine Renault mats and they have a fixing clip at the rear of the mat, but theres nothing in the floor for this to clip to? Is this right? Clip at the back: Nothing to clip to underneath?
The OEM renaultsport mats have 2 bits of velcro nearest the seat that stop them moving a lot - they are also shaped for the access clip to the floor storage as well - best place for them is probably calling renault wolverhampton and saying that you were a former customer of 'ads'. If you want to keep these mats, get some double sided velcro stips from B&Q for a fiver and they should do the job
Thanks mate. As long as I know that's how its meant to be it's fine. I'll just buy some self adhesive velcro and stick that to the back of the mat - Should do the trick hopefully!
I found the velcro bits folder back, even on the proper Renault mats. I'm still to find something that works, i'll be zip tying the mats to the seat runners at this rate.
Don't use anything for the passenger mats. But the driver mat I have a plastic clip near at the back of the mat which is cut into the mat, then I use double sided sticky tape at the front. Works fine. Does come undone after a few months especially when weather is warm but easy to change over.
Found these the other day, got to be worth a shot at that price, does get pretty annoying when it moves about!
Those look like they're worth a try! Not sure how well the carpet underneath will take those nails though.
