First megane rs trophy

Discussion in 'New to the Club? Why not introduce yourself?' started by Richard Perkins, Dec 26, 2019.

  1. Hello all,

My name is Richard Perkins and i have just bought a rs275 trophy ( 2014 model with 58000kms and am picking it up at the end of the month. This will be my first renault as my last car was a Mk1 ford focus Rs that i used as my daily driver ( 12 years ownership and 335000kms) so i am planning to use the trophy as my daily driver and an hoping that it will have the same durability.
I have always liked the shape of the megane rs and am looking forward to a new adventure.
There is one thing i have asked the dealer to rectify and that is the aftermarket forge dump valve ( the sound is not exactly what i am looking for) could anyone let me know which parts i need to replace the dump valve back to the original specifications?

    Thanks

    Richard

  2. you will need just to refit the original recirc valve instead, of the aftermarket vent to atmosphere unit.

  3. 275`s should handle like a dream.Very little goes wrong in these cars.
only common faults really are gearbox bolts can sheer, and suspension balljoints can knock.
    both easy fixes.

  4. are you 100% its a dump valave, and not a induction system. The noises can be similar when coming off the power..

  5. There is also a ramair induction kit on the car that noise i dont mind ( for now) but the dump valve has to go.
I have found a recirc valve from Forge motorsport that is a direct replacement for the OEM part, is this what i need?

  6. It is finally here and i love this car.....
I picked the 275 trophy up last monday and have had a great week experiencing and exploring what the car can do.
The handling, the brakes and the performance especially in RS mode have put a huge smile on my face every-time i have driven the car. (Love the pops and bangs from the Akrapovic exhaust too)
The seats and the interior look brand new and you can tell that the car came from an enthusiast as it is in such great condition.
After driving the focus RS up to the new owner this morning (had driven it for a week) it was extremely clear that performance cars over the last 11 years have definitely moved on with regards to technology.
I have decided to keep the dump valve (have already got used to the noise)

I am really looking forward to a long and hopefully trouble free ownership

    Cheers

  8. Cheers Paddy
Filled it up with BP ultimate today

  9. Just noticed a squeaking noise as i am on full lock turning right anyone had this before?
Also i have noticed more noise from the engine since it has got colder over here (the netherlands) is this normal?

    cheers Richard

  10. The swivel hubs are pretty complex on these cars, maybe take it to a local specialist if it persists. Lots of technically clued up guys on here who should be able to help though. Mine is a bit more noisey on a very cold start, presume it's normal. Also idle can be lumpy at times but doesn't last.
Got the diff working properly yet?
Was working near Zwolle last year, your roads are so much better than ours!

  11. It didnt happen again today, i will keep an eye on it.
The engine seems to be getting louder i took a video of the engine at standstill and it sounds very noisy ( a lot more than a few days ago
No lights on the dash and the power isnt effected but rather annoying.
Is it possible to upload videos?
