250 FF + Cup Chassis Tyres?

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Cowan91, Nov 11, 2014.

  1. So, seems to be some people telling me the 225s on my 250 are fine and others saying I should be running 235s. Just wanted to double check, as I've recently bought the car and the previous owner was running with 225 Dunlop Sport Maxx's. Started noticing a bit more sensation of torque steer/wheel spin than I was before as the tyres don't have too much life left in them.

So, just want to know what I should be buying in the next few months/weeks when they're due for a change. I'm definitely going to be running Michelin's, but should these be 225 or 235s?

    Thanks.

  2. If it's a FF with cup chassis you should be running 235. The sport runs 225.

  3. As Mike says, cups run 235, sports are 225

  4. 18 or 19"?

  5. I'm on 18s

  6. Cup has 19" 235, sport has 225 18"
Maybe the guy swapped wheels with a sport to soften the ride (35 profile on cup is pretty low)

  7. OEM Tyres on Cup chassis cars were 235, for both 18's and 19's.
