Feels a little skittish/tramlining Had my ball joints replaced recently by Rentec and the car feels 10x better in the corners and better at higher speeds when pushing on... But I am still experiencing alot of twitching and the car seems to want to follow every imperfection in the road.. And living in Edinburgh, most of the roads are shockingly bad. Patchwork galore. It's starting to really do my head in as i find myself driving low 20s sometimes even below 20 down certain roads because it feels hurrendous on the suspension.. It's absolutely fine on smooth roads like the motorway etc. Car had 4 brand new cs5p fitted recently and an alignment obv. Track rod ends possibly?
Agree with the above as well, Min has done it on various tyres from Semi slicks to normal road tyres. If there was something else then surely Rentec would of picked up on it when it was having its swivels done.
No such problems with mine ? 10k on the clock. Beautiful set up no issues at all on the terrible roads around me. If you want to feel bad steering drive an RCZ, sold mine last year after 6 weeks. Re-check geometry
Can vouch Sheffield roads are a good test for any car or bikes suspension durability But to the OP, I think they all do it to some extent. Wide tyres and stiff suspension don't help, but I'd never say mine does it to the point I'd have to slow down significantly.
Ha, too true ! Me niether, its gets on perfectly with the patches and the bits of road inbetween. It would go if not.
Fair enough if it is normal, I kind of expected that as it's fine on smooth roads. Don't think my tyre pressures would even make a difference cause mine are already on the low end of the scale at 2.0 rear and 2.2 front when cold. Well, when i picked the car up I did ask if anything else looked tired/worn but they said they just changed what i asked and didn't really do any health check.. Which at the time i was a bit like eh....?! Was a bit disappointed with that tbh. First time i've really felt like that using them but still..
To be fair my 275 is like that. You have to hold it on the road a lot more than my Clio 200 which just sat firm at speed. I put it down to the diff and ohlins on mine as it's very sensitive. Also the wheels are bigger and wider so it pulls into the gullys in the road which are very noticeable when you actually look at them closely. I thought it may be my tyres but I'm getting some new sport cup 2's tomorrow (can't wait) so will be interesting to see if they change things!
Yeah mine does that if the road has even slight tramlines. Better since the 4 wheel alignment. I think it's just one of those things!
They don't feel as planted as the Clio 200 that's for sure. Or they require more driving should I say. I think it's the diff too myself.
