Fans/blowers just cut out!

  1. Had the steamy windscreen. Put on the blowers at 4 with aircon on and windscreen fan position. They just went off badically immediately now nothing fan wise at all. Replaced fuse (30A) but the old one still didn't look bust. HELP?!

  2. It'll either be your heater resistor which is unlikely as they usually stop working at lower speeds first. But I had this problem and it turned out the connection was crap where the electrical connector plugs into the fan. You have to take the glove box out to access it. Put the fan on full then wiggle the connector see if it comes on.

  3. Thanks mate I'll take a look ASAP. Where about near glove box. Pics at all!?

  4. I have no pictures I'm afraid but it should be quiet obvious. You need to completely remove the glove box which isn't too much of a bad job. Then you'll see the fan housing and resistor pack. Its near the centre of the car under the dash from the passenger side.

  5. The advice was spot on mate. Found a big black module with wires going in that splits with the release of some clips. Moved it about and BINGO fans whizzed on. Cable tied the two module halves together to keep a strong connection. Great help thanks a load dude!

  6. No worries bud. Glad it sorted your problem.

  7. Big thanks from me as well - fans died and I was facing another trip to the garage. Googling didnt help me at all, just loads of people selling the heater resistors.

I should have known to just log on here and search
