Should I get a pipe with flanged ends and clamps as below (This should allow me being able to put the OEM center silencer back on) or is that a poor method and should I just buy a straight pipe and pay a welder? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless...ingGoods_OtherSports&var=&hash=item4ad9af36bf
Any exhaust garage can make and fit that piece of pipe, they will weld the bak part on as joining it with a clamp may cause leakage as the joint is going against the flow. Just let an exhaust place make it up for you
Ok thanks guys will do that, so i don't even need to buy a meter length of stainless steel pipe then? Ill try get this sorted this weekend then Thanks
Any custom exhaust will have the pipe and flare equipment to make that pipe. The place i took mine to flared both ends, clamps the front end and welded the back joint.
Just bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-inch-64mm-Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-Tube-Pipe-1m-MIJ-/320487828562, got a customer at work sorting it for £40, very good welder, long life wanted £80. Im not getting any pops from the exhaust while driving at the moment, only hear them if stationary in sports mode. Seems the standard exhaust is supposed to pop a bit so its a little strange, but with the size of the back box I'm not surprised!! Not seen anything like it!! Is this the OEM box? ..
1. You need the exhaust really hot then it'll pop like mad 2. In the warmer weather its harder to do, in winter itll pop loads more 3. Yes thats std backbox
Fair enough Matt! My MR2 exhaust was louder when hot and I must have taken the Megane to that limit, and its not really popping, maybe I'm going deaf though, that exhaust was too loud  Thanks for all the replies
Dont get me wrong the exhaust isnt loud, backbox chop will do wonders loved it on my old r26. On the 265 throughout the winter months it popped like mad, got warm and stopped popping. I found i had to go out and exhaust the exhaust really hot before it started popping again, better at night when its cooler!
Went for a drive last night, did get some pops! Completely random ones very unpredictable Got a welder doing it Ryan, they can flare them themselves. I even asked him if he wanted flared ends and he said no.
