Hi I'm going to be taking a few parts off my car next week so just gauging interest at the minute but I'll have a ktec 3 inch exhaust £350 a forge fmic £350 itg induction kit £150
Silly iPad didn't let me finish I would rather collection from Manchester due to not wanting them to get damaged but pics to follow early next week when I get chance to get them off. these are coming off a r26 thanks
interested in the KTEC, and potentially the FMIC too... any chance of postage? will look into collection if not (i'm 2.5 / 3 hours away) is the KTEC a catback or decat as well? looking forward to pics.
The exhaust will be cat back it is fitted with a 3" rs tuning decat but I'm not bothering taking it off,I'll look in to postage on Monday as I have a 13 hour shift at work tomorrow and it's my sons bday on Sunday but I'm off work all next week.
Interested in the front mount intercooler. Its not really a long drive for me! Want to see pictures of it first
Here are the pics please note as I've took them off I've took a pic off them they do need a clean, the itg has got the air filter oil but not pictured
A possible naive question that I have been wanting to ask since I first saw this ITG kit. What about the sensors that are on the original inlet? Are they not needed more, or how does the thing work? I have sawn there is the option to cut the original inlet and adapt the upper end of ITG kit, so the sensors can stay, or to completely change the inlet unit. Whats happening with the sensors in 2nd case?
there are no sensors on the standard airbox - the ITG just replaces the airbox so not sure what sensors you are referring to
the standard inlet pipe can be used with the itg kit - it just connects to the end of the standard pipe, either that or most replace the standard pipe with a silicon version which would still have the outlets for both of the standard sensors etc to plug into
As pointed out you only remove the air box the standard intake pipe remains, then the air filter goes down to behind the inner arch on the passenger side
Yeah as above. You can either use the standard hose from the turbo or replace it with a silicone one which I did and the valve just pops in like standard
I'd be interested in the FMIC and induction kit. Does the induction kit make as big a difference as KTEC make out on their website?
Cool, Ive got a recirc valve too. Easy to fit with the new battery tray etc.? Where does the filter end up sitting, behind the nearside foglight area?
I mean the sensors (one of them surely MAF) on the pipe, and not on the box itself Just i couldn't see any holes/holders for the sensors on the itg photos. You mean the original one hose from the itg kit. This has to have some holes which I cant see at the official photos. About the DIY itg kit (which also was somewhere in this forum), its pretty sure that somebody has to either change only the upper part and fit to the original hose or find/prepare a new hose with the appropriate sensor holders. Sorry for all this, I have decided to have this kit and want to fix it myself, but have to understand and decide between these alternatives. I truly appreciate your answers and help And a last question, does this thing need papers for MOT in England? Is there something available in this case. I think in Germany where I live, I would need something (of type "homologation")...
The hose where the sensors plug into stays, the itg fits into the end of it where the original box is
First one is after market hose (the yellow one) with sensor outlets on it - if I can see good, im on phone - and second one itg kit directly connected to the original hose? Is there any cutting off (original hose) action here involved? Thats what I want avoid in any way.
it don't know if it makes a difference as it was all put on one day and mapped the next, it sounds nice if you don't have an exhaust on though, you can hear it sucking a lot more.
Yeah you do have to chop it a bit so it doesn't make the filter rest on the gear linkage. Or cut the bend where the filter is.
Thanks mate, this entire conversation has cleared some things up. By the time I make it finally, I ll post some photos here.
Good stuff mate. I would recomend swapping to a silicone pipe, seemed to drive better. Might be in my head but nether the less worth it.
