Looking to uprate my engine mounts, going to go with a powerflex insert for the upper mount but when researching the lower gearbox link there seems to be two options, evol engineering or the vibra technics one. Links: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-...324699?hash=item565ab9f89b:g:l-YAAMXQlgtS87bm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-...938649?hash=item23bfb18959:g:SW4AAOSwndBcXWmk I was wondering does anyone have any experience with either mount, is there a preference for one or the other? The vibra technics appears to be solid rubber whereas evol is polyurethene, and also less than half the price... Thanks in advance!
Reviving an old thread here, as in title anyone had any experience with the evol lower mount. Potentially looking to get on in the future
I put the evol engineering lower dog bone mount on mine with the standard engine mount and at 1st it vibrated the hell outta the dash but after a few hundred miles I don't even notice it that much tbh and its settled in quite nicely. Might be a lot different with the engine mount inserts aswell but mines a daily aswell as odd track day so I didn't wanna go too overboard
I fitted a lower vibratechnics gearbox mount to mine last week and really impressed with it. Very little extra vibrations, better gear selection and seems to make the car feel a little more raw! I have the short shift conversion on gearbox and a zero point one shifter and the whole combination feels awsome. I think my original mount had a fair bit of movement in it. Car is used mainly for fast road and track, but I do often do the school run in it too! Have attached a picture below if my original mount compared to the new one. Well worth the upgrade imo. Hope that helps.
