ESP - Sport mode

  1. Does anyone know how this changes the map on a 250? I know it changes ESP settings and will change to a set throttle map (with the monitor), but my car also pops and bangs when this mode is on, so does it over-fuel or something to do it?

  2. hmm... that's weird.. afaik, the 250 does not (by default) use different maps for normal/sport. It is (apparently) possible to get it to do so, however, but requires specialist knowledge (i.e. your generic mapping shop will not know how to do it).

  3. only throttle map on the 250, no alteration to the engine map.

  4. I notice when driving hard and the car gets hotter than normal the exhaust note changes. Maybe when you put in sport mode your just working the car making the exhaust get hotter

  5. The throttle response on my FF is definitely sharpened up on Sport mode. And when revving it up or on over-run it does pop and bang, which it never does on Normal mode.
