I know it's cold out right now here, close to 0 but has been for a while and don't recall it ever taking this long to heat up.. I'm talking 45-50 mins for even the water temp gauge to get up to half. It seems to be if i have the heaters on the gauge barely goes past quarter of the way and it seems to stay there. Oil temp fluctuates between 70-76 degrees at the most on rs monitor aswell.. Something seems not right. It usually only takes 20 mins or so for the car to warm up but its been taking atleast double that recently. When it does get to half and i put the heaters on it pretty quickly goes down to quarter way again.. It's very frustrating as i feel I cant give it the beans as much as i'd want haha.. Plus i'm freezing!!! Someone said my thermostat might be a bit dodgy?
Have a read of this mate - thermostat by the sounds of it http://www.rsmegane.com/showthread....-dropped-below-70deg-cel&highlight=thermostat Engine on mine only takes 3 to 4 minutes providing its a nice 30-40mph drive for about 1.2 miles. Different car of course but gives you an idea.
Deffinitly something a miss. Mine only takes 10-15 min of steady driving to get upto full temp. The thermostats probably stuck open.
Yeah i figured something was up, usually only takes like 15-20 mins for the oil to get up to a decent temp.. It seems to heat up alright if i dont touch the heating haha but its too cold for that sheqt. The heaters are fine, they are warm after a few mins. Just the actual oil temp thats the worry. That sounds about right by reading that other topic. Will get the thermostat changed
