Engine oil Flush?

  1. Hello gents, going to be doing my annual oil service soon. Has anyone here used Millers engine oil flush before on there Megane’s? It’s 250ml bottle which they say is good for engines with up to 6litres of oil. I didn’t even know the flush was a thing until my Dad mentioned it. Car is 2014 on about 83,000 miles. Also have a magnetic sump plug turning up, anyone got any experience/findings with these on Megane?
As always any feedback greatly received, Cheers.

  2. Flush is not needed if the car gets regular oil changes and in a sense decent modern oil is it's own flush anyway. I've only ever used it on snotters with unknown history or when I've looked at engines with actual sludge evident.

Maybe a bit controversial this, but a lot of people confuse the purpose of a magnetic sump plug. In my view they're more useful as a convenienant way to access engine wear (if any) rather than as a way to catch metallic particles. The oil filter is going to be much better at that job.

  3. Ok, cheers for info.
