275 Engine Boring Assistance

  1. Hi all,

Earlier in the year I bought an immaculate 2015 275 Trophy.

I was recently unfortunate enough to experience compression loss in cylinder 1 at only 22,000 miles.

I am yet to pull the engine out and apart to properly assess damage but from what I've seen using a camera is that there is visible scarring on the inside of the cylinder noticeable by change in colour and the original boring pattern having been scraped away and replaced with marks from piston stroke motion. The piston itself looks undamaged however I can of course only see the top face of the head. I can't tell how deep/rough the scraping is but from what I can tell the damage doesn't look too bad so hoping for just a rebore will hopefully fix my problem.

My plan (if possible) is to have my cylinders rebored professionally and then have forged pistons fitted for increased reliability, then rebuild the engine and hopefully end of story. My question for you guys is where would you recommend sending my block for treatment, and also where should I consider when shopping for pistons? I am sending my block from the Channel Islands over to the mainland so an exact address would be amazing.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated, and I look forward from hearing from you guys!

    Many thanks, Josh
