225 Engine Bay?

  1. Hi

My 225 engine bay has never seen any cleaner, I'm hoping to give it a going over.

Being French, what bits would you folks recommend I avoid getting water on? I'm probably going to use Bilt Hamber Surfex HD as a cleaning solution and a gentle spray to wash off.

Also, can the front slam panel (black metal under all the plastic) be removed? Mine looks a little ropey, I was thinking I could get it powder coated when I have my wheels done?

    Thanks

  2. I'd avoid getting water on all of it lol. Being French and all.

    Haha.

  4. Yeah the slam panel is just two bolts 13/16mm (cant quite remember) 4 torx screws, the 2 plastic radiator clip things, and 2 8mm bolts on the headlights.
After thats all off, you'l have to disconnect the wiring loom clipped into it and the attached bonnet sensor/ bonnet clip mechanism.

If you were getting it powder coated you'd have to remove the horn / sensors and other plastic bits too, i've not done that so cant really advise any more
