1. Has anybody used EliteRemaps ? I've got a quote for £250 for a remap and I'm thinking this is too cheap to get a good result without damaging the car.

    Thanks

  2. Haven't heard of anyone using them.
That's not too cheap to get a good / safe result though works out around that for a stage 1 off of henk, or cheaper if you get a good deal second hand on a fastchip rstuner box

  3. iirc stage one maps are a generic map anyway, it's only stage 2 where you start adding injectors where custom maps come into play.

It all depends who writes there maps but can't see too much going wrong although for the same money I may be tempted with a henk fastchip map as his maps are proven

  4. Stage 1 maps are not generic. Each vendor tends to have his own. If you meant by generic if you took your car to vendor A you will have the same map as your buddy who took it there then that is true.

However , vendor B map is not the same as vendor A .

  5. A lot of them use rst maps with slight changes. My cheapo map was an rst map

  6. But as stated a lot of folk use Rst maps for stage one, for example Paul said that the map that DNA tuning outlets provide is one of his stage one maps (albeit stolen)

  7. I wasnt making that point. I was saying that not all maps are created equal. A lot of maps are shocking.

  8. Granted but there is other people out there that are capable of writing maps.

I had mine done by RS tuning, stage 2 so to speak but if I had confidence in another mapper more local I'd happily of taken it there.

Rs tuning, henk at fastchip etc may be proven/recommend but people are soon to jump on the back of other people suggesting other mappers

Rs and the likes hold the monopoly on these and that's one of the reasons we all pay so much.

Maybe the way I expressed my first reply wasn't the best, I have been on nights all week lol

  9. No doubt others can map , with varying sucess.

There are precious few I trust. Henk is good , Paul is great and Scoff is another.

I would like to think that we pay more for peace of mind. I would rather pay more and have time spent developing a map rather than nicked and tweaked personally.

    Each to their own really.
