EGR blanking, 2.0 dCi

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by L-1011, Jun 11, 2015.

  1. Just about to tear down my EGR and TB and give it a decoke. At the moment the EGR is so gummed up it prevents the flap from carrying out a full travel check on start up and immediately puts the emissions light on.

Whilst in there I intend to put a plate between the EGR feed tube and the EGR housing. The EGR delivery pipe if you like.

Does anyone know if this activates the engine light? I can't see how it would as flow isn't monitored but the guy who sold me the plate reckons it does on the traffic which uses the same engine and EGR setup.
