Had a good day at rstuning. Can't believe how clean some of your car's are especially Losi_8_boy your car is amazing. The blokes at rstuning we're very thorough, can't fault their service at all, had a lot of cars to do but still took their time to make sure everything was 100% before continuing. Will definitely be going back when I change my clutch. Thanks Andybond for arranging this.
Power delivery is so smooth now it feels great, although i've lost a lot of the pops and bangs from the exhaust but the misses likes it better and she drives it mainly so it's no big deal. Throttle response has improved so much it really does feel like a totally different car. Gonna put a new clutch in it soon and take it back up for a bit more power.
What causes it to lose the pops and bangs you had the 3 inch ktr didnt you? I bet its a total weapon now cannot wait to get mine done once i checked my current car issues out
Its a good laugh. 3" ktec cat back and 3" scorpion decat. Think the fuelling must be more efficient now or maybe something to do with the fuel cut rpm off throttle. Whats wrong with yours?
Once I've finished with the performance I really need to up my game on the interior/exterior after seeing yours. It was nice to meet you and everyone else although I don't really know who I met.
Yes 250 turbo and all the usual bits. It all works well and I was really pleased with 15 degree inlet temps. Ktec intercooler does its job.
Went to start my car to get the remap and car wouldnt start simply could not believe it. Never happened before. Lots of the guys came over to have a look and help me.(still dont know who i was talking to?!) aa man came out banged the fuel pump under back seats and car started. Advised to get new fuel pump so had to leave remap for another day as paul didnt have any spares on the day ive had it home since and its started no problems, really dont understand it. Unreal bad luck. Will get someone to check over fuel pump and maybe get new one?!
Bloody hell that's a right Ball ache. I had a spark plug break down on my last dyno ( brand new nology silver shit) and the clutch started to slip on this one so couldn't break 300. Richmeg did though he made 301 bhp i think it was. He advised getting a new pump just by banging on it? Might of just been a dodgy connection on the plug.
Don't know what it was before the map. Its not a lot faster but its a lot better and doesn't spin the wheels so much now. Which is nice.
yer maybe im really not sure mate. im sure one of the guys checked the connections though and said it was ok. Ill get a specialist to check over it before parting with any cash. Richmeg did well in the end after all the drama at the start.
Yeah he did apart from his chinese intercooler. Paul said his inlet temps hit 50 degrees and to chuck it in the bin.
Richmeg hit that temp after a short run on the rollers too. Dread to think what it would reach and how much power it would loose after a decent bit of boost has gone through it.
I just use a generic eBay cooler not a Megane fitment one and never had any cooling issues. in fact now it sits around 1ft away from any source of heat.
People seem to forget that on a RR you won't get as much cool air flowing through the cores as you would on the road/track, Regardless of fans.
Sorry to thread crash, but how much do RSTuning charge for a stage 1 map on a standard 225, and what gains should I expect? Cheers
Just caught up on the thread . . . I think half my engine 'upgrades' need binning! haha With that in mind I was well happy to make 301 bhp, after the first run the standard actuator was faulty, then it was leaking boost. Good to meet a few of you, shame I wasn't more sociable, I hadn't been to bed from the night before, oops S-: Canky I can't believe your luck mate, especially after you'd been waiting around for me and James to get ours sorted?! I'll make sure I get a good nights sleep before the next event and definitely new intercooler / air filter / hoses and engine clean on the agenda. Thanks James for all the mechanics. The gains are also a car that is so smooth and drives amazing. That alone to me is worth every penny.
good to meet you mate. I know to say i was peed off was an understatement. The thing is it hasnt fail to start since i cant understand it so freaky! never had car starting issue before that. im luck my car is still under warranty so im going to take it in for them to check it over. I will be back down there at some point i simply have to get it mapped ha!
Didn't even realise this was on until I had to nip to RS tuning Looked a good turn out. The lads at RS are brilliant, they cant do enough for you I was only there briefly getting some bits looked at and then had to shoot to make it back to football
