Can anyone recommend anyone who does driving instruction on track. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hi When you book a track day there is usually an option to book an instructor for that day, it is a very worth while option for your first time at a track, each track has there own instructors well worth the £20 - £30, you can also book on the day, but you might have to wait depending how many have booked.
I know a current racing driver who does tuition, he works for a few of the circuits and for Caterham including their academy. I met him on a Caterham experience day and I was really impressed with his guidance and his driving. I've hired him for 2 full days now and it's improved my circuit driving so much, I would never have pushed my car as much without the knowledge. I'll give you his details over a PM if you like? Colin Hoad, CATdrivertraining.co.uk Definitely worth doing one of their days. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
I think it' the best method, as Ian says. Problem is there is so much to take in and the brain can cope with so little at a time. One initial session early in the day and then practice/apply what you learnt. Another session early PM and repeat the above.
Can highly recommend Mark Woodhead. My brother and I had a full day between us with him at Oulton. He does a fair bit alongside Javelin too. http://www.markwoodhead.co.uk/#
Howard Hunt is excellent. He's on Facebook and is very experienced. I had a 20 min session off him on a Javelin trackday then booked him for a full day. V reasonable price compared to others too.
Is he the tall skinny guys mid-30s who is always on Javelin days ? If so, he is a really nice bloke and clearly popular with the billies, always a good sign.
No Howard is 70. Still racing though. Porsche club gb trackdays chief instructor, coaches lots of young and upcoming racers. He does the odd trackdays and lots of ards training. If you want his number pM me.
Cheers, no. I prefer to pretend I can drive. I just can't remember the name of slim shady who is always on Javelin days...
