Driveshafts

  1. Evening all, I was wondering what sort of price should I be looking at with regards to supply and fitting os and ns driveshafts?
I know Renault Parts Direct can supply me with both shafts for less than £300 so really just labour cost but don't want the hassle of ordering the parts in, then going to garage to have them fitted. I just want to take the car somewhere and have it done.
Anyone had any experience with Ren-Tech in Portsmouth, as they are the closest Renault specialist to me.
Living on the Isle of Wight makes finding decent Mechanics difficult.
I know there are some seriously good guys up north!
Just abit of a mission for me to get too!
Also does anybody know if ther is an updated set on the market?

    cheers:rolleyes:

  2. Really isn't a bad job might want to add some fresh gearbox oil at the same time as you usually lose a little on removal of shafts but again RPD can't cater for you there.

I'm not sure on the book time but a workshop on a ramp with a handy mechanic shouldn't really take him more then an hour maybe a little longer for any seized bits.

I've changed a few now and on axle stands and trolley jack I can knock a pair out in under a couple of hours easily

  3. As the man above says really, if you can use a socket set you'd have it all done in a couple of hours.

  4. Can highly recommend rentech in Portsmouth, Mike is a brilliant guy and I use for everything on my r26.

Had my driveshafts replaced by him a couple of months. He will match RPD and Renault Wolverhampton prices for you. Labour wise I think I paid 100 for one side and 75 for the other.
