250 Driveshaft bearing dead

  1. Hi,

As i was 100% shure that my right side wheel bearing is dead (exactly the right symptoms and noises on driving/turning for that case), we changed it out today, but with no luck :worried:
The noise is stil there if to turn right on speeds 60mph and over, and some constant humming noise with the straight driving also (making less if to turn left). Now if to listen carefully you can hear (and feel) that its coming from the point where the driveshaft bearing is located. We listened it on the ramp when driving with the wheels off the ground and it shure felt like its coming from this bearing.

So my question, is there anyone had or having this issue, it looks like its not some common thing about those cars? I know that there are plenty of that bearing issue with other FWD cars having longer driveshaft.
Can someone please hook me up with the right part number and information, is it possible to orded just the bearing or is it coming with the whole right side driveshaft? I have one complete used driveshaft from my previous car, so if the price is going to be ££££, then i can just install that one.

  2. I get a whirring noise when driving but cant remember when it started. I'm 90% certain its because of my tyres.

  3. If anyone is going to have this problem, the bearing that goes there is SKF 6007 (cost about 10euros).

  4. Update to that thread again! As ive just changed out this driveshaft bearing, i still have the same noises, so no luck with that either. Have to figure out what else it can be.

  5. Now ordered one new wheel bearing to change out the left side one also. As i was on the back seat today when my friend was driving, to figure out what it can be, i heard that the sound came from the left side (when turning right).

  6. It was left side bearing, glad to be noise-free finally.
