R26 Drivers side engine mount

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by adR26am, Jun 27, 2014.

  1. The engine seems to have some movement at idle and when revved, I've had the injectors cleaned a few months back and it's always been run on V power.
I had a look at the engine mount and can see worn rubber, although there is no metal contact. Yet.

What do we think of this? It's on the engine end of the mount. The body end looks OK.

Could somebody tell me whether an open DV at idle is normal too? It's just had a new idle spring but not the main one, which is yellow. The car pulls well but there does seem to be some lag between the gears and I can't tell if this is normal.

  2. I don't know about the mount but I think my dump valve is the same

  3. I've realised that's just the stabiliser mount and the main ones are underneath. Guess it won't hurt me to have a look.

  4. The top engine mount on the o/s leg is the norm to go. if you can get your finger freely in between the casing and the mount then it maybe worn. or if its never been changed before.

  5. Check the gearbox one too.
