Hello chaps, Can anyone recommend a good place for a days driver training? Any past experiences? Cheers C.
Hi mate if it's to improve your skills on track, why not pop over to a track day sometime, plenty of us can give you some good pointers and best of all, for free
Contact the IAM, they do skills days at several tracks over the year, I went to one at Croft in May, it was superb and only £120 http://www.iam.org.uk/drivers/motorists-courses/driving-assessment/skills-days
If you want some proper tuition get involved with an MSA driver. Josh Cook is currently looking at putting a package together for tuition. As soon as it's sorted I'll post on here.
Not so mich road driver training but track driving training.. even though I don't do many trackdays its just to learn the dynamics and build confidence etc... I'm hoping to do a track day with you guys next year hopefully but wohld just like a bit more training so to speak lol
Why don't you just come on a track day with us then. All will be more than happy to take you out/sit with you to give guidance. Also you can get instruction from the track. The more you do the better you will be.
Think I might try and make one of them eitel! Just have to see when and where thanks for the suggestions/feedback lads!
As above Silverstone is probably one of the best places to get proper tuition. If your looking for driving tuition then the Porsche Performance Centre do some great training. The Silverstone driving school also offers excellent 1 to 1 in your own car. If on the other hand you want to focus more on yourself and the human performance, i.e concentration, diet, fitness etc then the IZone Driver Performance centre is where you need to be.
Great thread. It was just this evening I was giving advanced driving some thought. Iv owned my R26 since june but would like to delve deeper into its capabilities, get to know the car better and how it reacts on the limit.
I had some driver training with Sean Edwards (R.I.P) and it changes the way you drive and think. Well worth it. But as said you can learn alot from other drivers. Sounds like a trackday needed at Bedford or Silverstone! (lots of run off)
