    Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help. My doors have stopped auto unlocking when I put my hand on the door handle with the key in my pocket.

Weirdly the boot still unlocks with the key in my pocket.

I've tried both keys, new battery, putting the key in the slot... bit lost now.

  2. The unlocking process is a two part one

There is the obvious one of pulling the handle, but there are also sensors that start the unlock when you place your hand on the handle. If it is just the one sensor not working then only the one door will not unlock if the both will not unlock it is probably some part of the circuit other than the sensors, although I suppose it may be both sensors could have gone but this would be unlikely

You can purchase the sensors on Ebay but would probably recommend that you take the car to a specialist auto electrician (independent are normally considerably cheaper than Main dealers ), and get the fault diagnosed as it's only likely to get worse

@barman58 Turns out it is the sensor after getting it plugged into CLIP at Renault.

Hopefully they are going to be replaced under warranty

  4. Sorry to jump in on this. Mine is now doing exactly the same. It had been working fine. Now it won't open either door keyless but will open the boot.

I only have the one key to try. I have changed the battery but that hasn't made any difference.

Have you had your sensors replaced? Is that what it was? Do you have to change both, I just find it odd that both have gone at the same time.

Sorry for all the questions, thanks.

Have you tried starting the car with the key in the slot to reset?

I've not had the sensors done yet as the car is having the Perfohub done under warranty and I didn't want to push my luck. But it looks like that's the problem, think they were around £35-£40 each for the part.
