Beautiful, anything that adds time is good. I know if they are determined they will have it but I'll be damned if I make it a walk in the park for them. Also after a certain amount of time they will get antsy. I was thinking about getting a viper alarm but with French electrics being as fussy as they are not sure it's a great idea adding more into the mix. Just because I don't want the car driven by anyone else doesn't mean I don't want to be able to drive it lol
I hate thieving scumbags. had my car stolen from the house a few years ago. And ever when they (the police) found the car with finger prints ect, nothing ever came of it. CCTV is good for peace of mind, but does not really stop them (would give you a idea of when I was taken or broken into) but I have seen lots CCTV footage of Fords and BMWs being stolen, most cover there faces. i'm not a big fan of after markets alarms as they can make more problems then they solve. best thing to do is a physical deterrent is a wheel/disc lock thing, it may not stop them but will slow them down or they may look for a easier target else where. Best one I've seen is where someone as fitted a disc lock the drilled a hole through it then put a bike D lock through it and through the harness hole in the top of the seat (the seat is folded forwards)
Can you have a drive way post fitted, the type that drops into the ground are not to offensive! http://www.barriersdirect.co.uk/bol...-ram-raid-telescopic-posts-fast-delivery-p532
If you are afraid they are going to steal the car by programming keys or things, make them a surprise and wire a small button in a secret spot to (any of the options): - your crank sensor. Kill the switch and they can have all the keys in the world. - break one CAN wire in your OBD port through a button and they will not be able to access the ECU - put a button on the fuse that puts current to the ECU. All this things are very easy to do, will cost you couple of pennies and are almost bullet proof. They will not start to look all around the interiour for buttons. And if you put it somewhere invisible, you are good to go. They will steal your seats and wheels but not the whole car unless they pick it up with a forklift. If you need even more details about how to do it and sleep well, ask me and I will tell you over private messages. S.
Now I'm all for making it harder to stop the scum that the UK seems to be full of these days, Thankfully not up here but i'm very much of the mindset that if they are wanting to take it they will, At any cost. I certainly wouldn't put up a fight if someone came and tried to take my keys, It just isn't worth the risk to yourself IMO. Thats what insurance is for. Aye its an inconvenience but so is being is hospital with various stab wounds etc.....
I'd be inclined to agree. There was a guy on Piston Heads who had his new Golf R stolen recently. A gang followed him home, then when he pulled onto the drive, they got out, threatened him and took his car. The most sensible approach is to just hand over the keys. It's not worth being beaten/killed over a car - regardless of how heartbreaking it can be when your pride and joy is stolen.
