Probably a basic question but I dont know the answer. Do they have a standard BOV? I've not had a proper turboed car for about 8 years and love these ?
Adding an open air filter sounds much different to a dump valve / blow off valve. Just an air filter sounds like a mass of air being pushed back out the engine. A bov/dump sounds like a whistle and sounds gay.
ha ha it sounds childish but I remember them fondly from my old 200sx's and Skyline from years ago. Gay or not I want one when I get a Megane. I know the mrs will hate it
'Sounds gay' is a very perjorative term and not at all appropriate for a forum like this imo . @Simonas, if you dislike the whoosh being too loud, then you can just add the BOV whilst leaving the recirc valve in place. I've done this and it's 1/2 as loud so a bit more subtle but yet still there
As above fitting a cone filter or even just a free flowing panel filter you get a fair bit of the recirc valve noise, but it's not a aggressive as a atmospheric dump valve so doesn't sound quite so try hard.
