Do DRL's only work in the daytime?

  1. As above, thanks.

I would assume they would stay on in the dark as well.....

  2. On a 250 they turn off when the main lights are switched on, I believe later 265/275 variations they are on throughout.

  3. I can think of an easy way to find out.

Maccy44, RHK3 and TurboFlorio like this.
  4. You can get them wired up to your sidelights to keep them on at night, if you wish

  5. On a 275 when the headlights are on, the DRL dim down into a low power mode.

I'm also pretty sure it's illegal for DRL to be on at full power at night as they're too bright,so it probably wouldn't be wise to wire them up to do so!

  6. Lol
Glad to see more activity on the forum tho!

  7. Can a rs250 be reprogrammed to dim it's DRLs like the later models?

Or is it a case of different lighting modules controlling it all?

The actual ballast needs modified, it isn't just a software thing unfortunately, RSC suspension does the modification but it isn't cheap

  9. If you really want it, there is or was a kit for sale that does just this, google it, it's from another forum.

  10. My car does this ... DRL is only on when the lights are on. A bit disturbing indeed ... need to take a look at the settings as you can adjust this in the menu.

  11. Thanks everyone (mostly!), I wondered if there was a setting I'd missed as I had seen later models with them on all the time.
