265 Disable TPS

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by bobsan, Aug 5, 2014.

  1. want second set of wheels and be done with TPS system, anyone know how to disable it on 265, guessing its in CPU ??

  2. I am not sure if you should disable them. It may be an issue during MOT, as car has got them factory fitted.

  3. Just get new tpms valves for the new wheels.

  4. You can turn it off with the CLIP diagnostics. Then you can just change the wheels/valves to whatever you want
Doesn't come into the MOT unless the light is on and even then it's only an advisory for the moment.

You can have x2 wheel sets programmed to any single car, the idea being that some European vehicles require (by law) a Summer and a Winter set. It can however be turned off universally - We do this for £25 and as above there are no issues with MOT.

  6. 250 and 265 do not need programming to the car, just fit new ones to a second set of wheels and the car will pick them up

  7. thanks for the replys guys, another issue seems tyre fitters dislike them and charge premium for wheels fitted with them, which I find odd

  8. Really? They never mention anything to me about it when changing my tyres the other week, just changed the tyres

  9. The place I use charge a tenner a wheel and charged nothing extra for fitting new TPMS

  10. the garge dont need to touch the valve other then rmoving the core to deflate them, fitting them to new wheels is a piece of pee, just a collared nut
