Did any 250/265/275 come with an auto dimming rear view mirror?

Was it an option on these cars as every part I can find is for the MK2 and not the right colour.

Yeah was an option on the MK3s, Visibility package I'm sure

Hmm I can't seem to find a part for it. I'm sure the standard MK3s would use the same one

  4. Must be optional as wiring is in roof for it

Is the wiring definitely there? On the MK2s it's there but not sure on the 3 as some say it is and some say it isn't lol

It's definitely an option as Jamie said but not sure about the wiring

  7. Pop cabin roof light cluster out, should see unused connector heading up from rear view mirror

I missed a comma. Do you have climate control too?

  11. no climate

If it's a brown connector that's for the climate control sensor

  13. I thought the mirror comes with the "light pack" or what ever it is called, the cornering lights ect

I didn't know these came with cornering lights?

Not sure what pack it comes in then but I'm just gonna fit it and see if it works with some power from the fusebox

The Xenons are Bo Xenon and have cornering

Are they? I thought they were only single xenon

  19. Mine has the visibility pack and has the dimming rear mirror, not sure if they are linked.
The headlights are bi-xenon on mine.

  20. By definition, only 'single xenon' headlights can be bi-xenon, as the bulb often acts as both low and high beam, as opposed to having two separate xenon bulbs in each headlight. But while the MK3 headlight only has a single xenon bulb, it also has a H7 bulb to handle the high beam - I'm pretty sure the xenon bulb doesn't change angle when switched to high beam. So in that respect, the Mk3 xenon headlights are not bi-xenon.

They do switch to high beam

  22. Well there we go then, bi-xenon it is. Just seems odd that it would need the H7 bulb for the high beam as well? Maybe the xenon-projector can't angle high enough?

Ah I see, I'm glad that feature won't work when I fit mine then :tongueout:

Some of them don't even have H7 for main beam

Probably as effective as the halogens in these :tearsofjoy:

Nothing, just the Xenon. Whether or not that's due to them removing bulbs or a factory thing is another matter.

I didn't think the halogens where that bad eith decent bulbs tbh

Dunno I've got the best for mine and it's still pretty shit

Cant say I found them that bad, majority of my road driving is dark, unlit Scottish roads as well

Xenons a lot better? I'm just comparing them to the Beamer which is also halogen and they are miles better

Yeah, but I never upgraded due to the light output, more for the looks. Was more than happy with the halogens for actually seeing where I was going

    The plot thickens :tearsofjoy:

  35. I have xenons, cornering, DRLs, Climate and auto dimming mirror.

I am yet to see a bi-xenon Megane MK3. My full beam is a complete seperate bulb

  36. My 2011 RS 250 non-cup also has Xenons, cornering, DRLs, 2-zone climate, but no auto dimming mirror. Was probably an extra option when specing the car, as opposed to being part of a package. Or maybe the contents of the Visibility Pack changed over time to include the auto dimming mirror.

They are all Bi-Xenon, it does both dipped and main beam but they also have the H7 that comes on for main as well

  38. I have a RS265 with rear dim mirror, DRL's, auto lights, auto wipers etc etc no idea about corner lights or xenons though

  39. I opted for the visibility pack on my 250 when I purchased it from new and was a £766.30 option which included.

Bi xenon cornering headlamp with washers and auto adjustment.
    Electrochrome self dimming rearview mirror.
    Electric heated folding door mirrors.
    Led daytime running lights.
And to clarify the high beam uses the separate h7 along with the bi xenon high beam

  40. There is a physical shutter in front of the xenon bulb, that moves out of the way when you switch to high beam, at the same time, the high beam bulbs come on.
I believe it's actuated by an electromagnet and if you listen closely with the window down while flashing your lights, you will hear the sound of the shutter opening and closing.
