Had Steve from allvehicles drop a low mileage Deep Black R26R off, with the goal of making the bodywork better than new and more matching to the mileage. So we decided to go with the top level detail like sunnylunns car had. So upon arrival: Once rolled inside the car was clayed: Then paint depth readings checked (apologies for the focus on some of the shots my kit lens motors are shot so ordered a new lens) Onto the test spot: Then masked up and afew bits taken off to help get correction eveywhere: So with the pad and polish combination sorted onto the first stage, correction: Shiney:
Even though that stage is just to correct the swirling and scratches, it left a pretty good finish: Onto a further refining stage, with Menzerna sf4000 and 3m yellow pads: Then Britemax Black Max via black 3m pads to finish up: Then all the removed parts taken through the same process:
Then panel wiped: New bonnet sticker applied (we were still waiting on the rear bumper one at this point): Then protected with Migliore Strata coating: Then wheels off, arches cleaned and protected, wheels cleaned and coated inside and out with C1 and also the calipers: I noticed this upon arrival which was bugging me and as I suspected it wasn't even secured on: Engine bay tidied up and protected: Onto the sills inside:
Mirror's done ocd style: Onto the interior, all hoovered out and protected with gtechniq fabric guard:
Noticed the windscreen had some bonded contaminents on so this was polished: Trims with sonax: All back together:
Then when Steve collected the rear sticker was applied: Thanks for taking the time to read. If anyone is on the look out for a mint low mileage R this has to be it.
It is and has been for many years now, I used to do it part time back in 07/08 for abit when it wasn't really popular but after it picked up with the introduction of detailing world etc it has been.
Fantastic mate. It's blatant your highly skilled in what you do. The work in your pictures speaks for itself. Really fascinating.
your lucky i didn't get the kids to clean it for you : ) Pictures don't do the black justice, it really does look the mutts nuts, nearly as good as mine : )
always looking at your threads and loving your results. where get i get the sonnex rubber dressing you use. i cant seem to find it in the small bottle you use with the applicator.
Great work mate. Car looks stunning. I need to decide what I am doing with my paint shield before I set you to work on it. Were the stickers hard to apply? Any idea how much they are?
Thanks mate here you go: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engin...onax-gummi-pfleger-rubber-care/prod_1294.html
Think the stickers are £180 from ads mate. Stickers are actually well done from Renault Kev so easy to apply, they give you the template to line up and where they are good quality thick vinyl they don't bubble.
Excellent work as per usual! Whoever buys this from Steve is going to get a cracker, Although i suspect it may be up for sale for a while at that price, 21k IIRC?
Thanks Jamie It's a tough one as it's pricey but how many mint low mileage r's are left, all the suspension and wishbones still look new. Hopefully it's just what someone is after.
If i was looking for one and had far too much money i would snap it up tbh even at that price. Keep it in good shape and it will still stay one of the highest valued ones imo.
Ed wow. That's amazing. I always enjoy seeing your detailing posts. Think this is one of my favourites.
