Cruise control fault after battery off

I've just done the popular 197 steering wheel change and hooked up the battery again.

Everything works fine apart from the cruise now - but it's a strange one as it tries to work and will actually let you set a speed and hold to it but if you try and adjust speed up or down a "cruise control fault" message appears on the dash.

There's no self learning timer is there?

Actually the only thing I think it could be is the actual cruise control/ speed limiter wiring as the buttons on the new wheel are obviously untested - I can run my old megane buttons in situ but without the airbag on.

You can run without an airbag on the wheel I'm assuming apart from a warning?

How did you fix it Daz, just for reference? It's something I plan on doing at some point.

It was the actual cruise control buttons/loom at fault. I couldn't see any actual damage but I plugged my old megane ones in and it was fine.

FYI you can use the original megane cruise wiring on the 197 wheel, just pop the button caps off and swap for the clio items.

Oh and anyone who struggles getting a clio 3 airbag off is a pussy! It's a piece of piss with an 8mm allen key!
