  1. Hello,

Thought I'd share my experience of the R26 at my first Renault trackday, especially in relation to its performance against an integra dc5 type r!

Firstly the type r is awesome and sounds a hell of a lot better the the R26, the teg I'm referring to is on lowering springs so it seemed a lot stiffer. The R26 felt pliable compared to the teg and seemed to hunker down on whichever rear corner was taking the weight. Softer than the teg and even my old fn2 civic type r!

Where the integra began to wash out, the megane continued to dig in! I was very impressed, I now know why a lot of motoring press praised the R26 for having a rear end that is alive!

In a straight line the megane had the legs over the type r especially from corner exit! Both are relatively standard engine wise, my life was saved by esp/asr several times once the heavens opened, the R26 did not let go once the teg did!

Overall very impressed, thoroughly enjoyed the day and hate to say it but I've got the bug again! I only saw one other Meg which was an all black R26 similar to mine but I believe had a 3' exhaust and possibly a map due to its "urgency".

Some pics! The other car was an old GSI vectra a mate of mine uses for track only!
