My window has broke and it won't go up so I've had to bin bag the window but the alarm goes off is there a fuse for the alarm so I can lock the car but the alarm won't go off? cheers matt
try and push the window up so it sticks and pull out the window module... you will need a new one about £15 off ebay not sure about the fuse though
Tried to get the window up but it was pissing it down! So tape it for a quick fix! I've got the window module out and it has actually melted the pins and plastic together! Such a rubbish design!!
It hasn't gone off for a while and the rains stopped so fingers crossed lol!! I've seen these http://www.renaultwindow.co.uk I wonder if they are any good! The only down side is you lose the one touch and the anti pinch safety feature!!
yeah i brought mine off ebay bud, but yeah im not really too bothered about the one touch and the safety features.... better than paying like £80 from Renault lol!
Going to be fixing the window module today what have you lot done to seal the module from getting wet again?? I need tips as don't know weather to wrap in electrical tape but if the motor gets hot it will it not catch on fire or burn out??
You'll probably find you module will still not work... I had the same problem... Tried to dry mine out and seal it but still got nothing, obv had it due to sending the wrong messages to the motor to let the window down!!
yeah just wrapped it in electrical tape just to be on the safe side... sealed on both ends of the tape mind!
nah mate, its nothing like the Temic module... hardly draws any heat tbh! and if your worried and don't fancy doing that... use Vaseline!!
no worries dude! i know what you mean btw with regards to it catching fire... i was testing how hot it got after constantly using it for like 5/10mins haha!
Mine works for a few weeks then stops. I carry a screwdriver and a small hammer in the car. The driver is for the two speaker screws and the hammer is to tap the regulator whilst I'm pressing the button on the door handle. Usually starts working after a minute. Then a couple of weeks later.....
I'll have to try that! MY passenger side window let itself down this week on a very wet day and refused to go back. In the end I swapped out the one from the drivers door so I could wind it back up, then removed the fuse for that window and swapped it back again. im in the process of complaining to renault as they will sell me a full door innard for over 300 quid, or supply and fit for 130, however they won't sell me just the temic module.
send yours off and get it repaired? if not buy a replacement module for £17, you just lose the one touch facility and also the lazy lock haha!
Replaced my module with a replacement second hand unit but before doing so tested my old one first. Gues what; it worked. I'm slightly anxious about the problem being elsewhere now. Let's see if the problem reappears.
