Got my Megane on Saturday and have a couple quick queries. It's a 265 Trophy. First is that after turning off the car and looking in the engine bay there is a clicking noise coming from the little black box type thing near the coolant. If you put your finger on the pipe heading towards the engine you can feel this too. Anyone have any ideas what this is? Second is that the xenons look like they are set in euro mode. The drivers side lights up more of the road than the passenger. Have had a quick look but can't seem to find a switch. Previous cars I have had just have a toggle. Is this the case for the Megane?
I think the noise will be the water pump to cool the turbo after switching off the engine when it's hot. Xenons I have no idea as I don't have them!
You have to disasemble the headlights to convert from euro to UK if they are not bi-xenon, itlf they are bixenon it is imposible. Its not an easy job, and takes 12 working hours aprox. And you have to find someone that knows what he is doing. I would be alert if both headlights are euro spec as it would meen someone just got the cheapest repair on crashed car or wanted the xenons and didt know a thing abaut them.
You sure that's correct for the Megane 250? Just been doing a bit more searching and still doesn't seem to be a definitive answer
Im doing xenons for long time. There is no swith to switch from eu to uk, ie from lhd to rhd. There was few cars (mercedes only) that could "switch" from UK to only flat (no step and whole beam lowered) not to blind while driwing on EU roads. And that system was ditched by Hella. If your headlights are single xenon than you could maybe disasemble the headlights and the projector it self and maybe be able to flip the cutoff screen. Beleive me if you have bixenon than it is not possible
Ah ok. I haven't driven in complete darkness yet. So am not 100% sure it is set up that way just thought there might have been a switch.
