Hi, Can someone tell me what my tyre pressures should be in bar and in psi please? She's got 19's on and they are yokos ad08 tyres Thanks!
Check the inside of the door there should be a sticker that tells you recommended pressures. From memory 2.5 front 2.2 rear but it's early and I haven't had a brew yet so could be wrong!
Apparently these are from the workshop manual: 235/40 R18 95Y - 30F/22R (normal); 33F/29R (motorway) 235/35 R19 91Y - 35F/26R (normal); 38F/29R (motorway) I think the service booklet has a page with the correct pressures on it.
Surely you want the fronts running slightly lower pressures than the rears? Anything around early 30's (psi) or 2-2.3 (bar) is on the money
Nope, even the R26 had higher psi in the front than rear, probably as thats where the engine sits so more weight over front axel.
While on the topic, in my old 172 Renault recommended different pressures in summer/winter. I've kept mine at the same pressures at the moment, but should I be changing this?
I would stick with whatever the recommendations are. Must have been recommended for a reason or after some research, I doubt they would have just pulled the figures from a hat
Just to add, my cars pressures were down by 3-4 PSi all round, and the car felt like shit, sorted the pressures and noticed how much more positive the car felt on the wet roads....
I find tyre pressures are personal preference, Use the book figures as a guide then adjust to suit your driving and roads IMO. Fwiw i run 36psi up front and 34 on the rear at the moment, Come summer i drop them by a couple Psi though
Thanks all for your comments - mine were quite high when I picked it up so the husband took it to the garage for me and now they are too low lol. Have to send him back
Have a play around. The book pressures and ideal pressures aren't the same thing! http://m.autocar.co.uk/blogs/our-cars/megane-r26-burns-autoroute
arise old thread. Searching for pressure info Did anyone else find it annoying when you put an avatar as you have and then say "the husband".... much rather imagine you're single.
Cool. Cool. so when you need something to find out and you need an answer you just show up as a woman and immediately everyone breaks their legs to give you an answer. Noted
With 8 degree outside temp, 245 wide tyres all round, 28psi front, 30 psi rear gate 33.5psi all round when hot.
