Compbrake adjustable top mount for Megane 2 RS

  1. Wouldn't that work on a 3RS as well considering you can select the size of the sleeve nut and washer size?

Would be nice to get adjustable top mounts without paying £2k+ for a set of coilovers (Bilstein B14 + top mounts for a mostly road driven car).

How does the top of the strut sit in the stock top mounts? By that I mean is there any offset between the plane of the mounting face of the top mount and the bearing. This would be my first concern with applying them to OE shocks and springs as it could end up altering the ride height. Of course one has to question if it is a good idea increasing the NVH by removing one of the main components in reducing it whilst maintaining stock shocks and springs. Personally I think its a waste of time and money putting spherical bearing top mounts on anything other than out and out track cars.

The powerflex camber/castor adjustable bushes look a much better solution to me for someone wanting to get some camber on OE shocks and springs.

  3. don't touch the camber adjustable shite from power flex, i had a nightmare with them, you can't stop them spinning, threw them in the bin after the 5th attempt to stop them spinning and throwing everything out of cock. Utter useless shite.

Thats a shame as it looked like a great solution, my race car has OEM adjustable camber/castor on the rear mounting of the bottom arm and camber adjustment via slotted strut mounting to the hub upright. Quite a few people had problems stopping the later from slipping, a friend gave me those serrated lock washers but they didn't really work and I believe in the end we just used OEM steel lock nuts. The problem is the Renault isn't designed to have adjustment in those places so its not surprising the adjustment slips, given how expensive those bushes are they really should include all the other hardware required to make them work properly rather than leaving it to the customer to do their own automotive engineering development. Blooming typical of the aftermarket.

I also had a problem with my adjustable ones, only on one side though, still have them fitted, just reset them and creamed the bolts up really tight.
