Clutch options

  1. My megane 225s clutch has slipped a couple of times in 6th in the last couple of weeks. I have plans for the car performance wise, and am currently configuring it ready for stage 2. In your experience what would be the best option for me regarding the clutch replacement? I was considering the ktec uprated r26r kit with flywheel however with fitting it's going to cost nearly a grand. I could get the OEM spec clutch but considering Im planning to go stage 2 I'm not sure how well that would hold up. What's the best option here?

  2. Go for the R26.R Clutch and lightweight SMF - just don't get it from ktec.

If you are based near the midlands I'd be calling 'Midlands Renault Specialist' aka Mark Black - he'll supply and fit for around 800 IIRC.

I got the flywheel from Rstuning for 350, and then Rentec in Edinburgh supplied and fitted the rest for me.

  3. Sorry to hijack the thread, looking at renewing my clutch soon as its started to give off a bit of juddering when I pull off, just wondering is there any particular reason why not to order from Ktec?

Read above, you can save well over 200 going elsewhere...

  5. My bad, read the Ktec bit but not the rest properly. I'll just blame it on it being late

  6. Thanks for your advice but I was under the impression the r26r clutch could only be fitted to the r26r dual mass flywheel and not the SMF?

  7. You can get a SMF to suit the R Clutch mate

  8. Where is best to buy all the parts from,
