Clutch damper delete

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Devon Milner, Oct 19, 2023.

  1. Has anyone had cultch trouble after a damper delete ? My clutch activation is now a lot higher up the pedal travel. All works fine but have heard one suggestion that with the damper deleted there is nothing to limit the fluid pressure at the end of the pedal travel down. The damper would previously do this by pushing back on the spring when the pressure got up?Could this lead to over pressuring the system or pushing the fingers on the pressure plate to far in ? Unfortunately im no clutch expert or professor of fluid dynamics.!!

I've replaced the clutch damper line on a couple of cars now, not had the problem your on about, maybe it's because there might have been a problem with the damper on your old line, they were prone to failing, maybe yours was just about to let go.

another thing to try is to lift the peddle up, it might not be releasing the fluid fully.
