As above been reading a few threads bit looking for a pad purely to swap in for track days and they seem far cheaper then say xp8, ds3000 etc but are they a worse pad? Looking for something with decent feel and something that's not going to fade on me Cheers
Best to 'worst' out of those 3. XP8 > RC6 > DS3000 RC8's would be mega, probably on par with XP8's or better.
The face rc8 are only £170 and will be a track only pad bot sure if I should just spend extra £20 over the rc6 for them
What are the RC5+ like on track ? I was looking at RC6 but was unsure if they would destroy the standard discs on the 250 cup ?
They're fine on lighter cars like my Clio 182 and stripped Megane 225. RC5+ are kinder to the discs than RC6.
I ran RC5+ all round on mine for a bit when i first got it, Great pad if you don't want something thats going to eat discs/paintwork
Just ordered a set of RC5+ and RC6 for mine literally few minutes ago to try out, along with braided lines and some millers racing fluid 300+ Going with DS2500 on the rears shall see how that combo works, if your at any tracks when I am feel free to always take my Megane out for few laps to see how they go.
I have heard they don't have such great modulation and release? No idea if this is true but those are important factors for me as I like to balance a car on the brake roll off and do a bit of trail braking sometimes.
I'll probably go rc6 as I do go pretty balls deep on track lol pedal feel and fade is a big thing for me so will try them. For the money they look hard to beat
It's partially down to personal preference as well. They have a pretty much flat coefficient level, so modulation is easy.
Didn't think XP8s were available for the MK3. Where can you get them? A bit aggressive for daily driving perhaps and better for pure trackday usage? Cheers Andy!
There is a massive choice of pads for the MK3 due to the above, Even easier if you have the pad shape
