225 cigarette Lighter Fuse - Confused.....

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by l££, Apr 19, 2015.

  1. So the cigarette lighter isn't working. Checked the fuses in the glove box, which clearly shows a picture of the cig lighter fuse location, but in that place there is no fuse or fittings for a fuse to go? I've pulled all the fuses in the glove box and they all look OK, so I'm confused? Has anyone ever noticed this?
I would go searching in the bonnet, but, I just don't understand why there is a picture and location on the glove box fuses, only for nothing to be there.
    Any help or ideas? Cheers

  2. I believe the fuse is the same as the radio? My cig lighter didn't work.. I managed to pull it up through the hole it sits in, disconnect it and clean it up, worked fine ever since. They seem to be prone to a bit of corrosion/ dirt inside which stops them working.

  3. I've changed the stereo fuse nick, even though it looked fine. I'll give the CIG socket a pull tomorrow and clean it up. It has noticeable corrosion for no apparent reason. I don't use it often, but when do it tends to be an emergency or important (tire inflation or phone charging)

  4. Sounds like the same issue I had with mine, all of my fuses were fine just the corrosion inside the lighter. Once I had mine disconnected I just used warm soapy water and a small bush to clean it up dried it up and put it back in and it's been fine since.
