Recieved and fitted a bailey dv24 today and managed to keep the famous clip in one piece wahey i was extra carefull as id heard the stories i did have a problem with the jubilee clip on the opposite end to the throttle body it was upside down took me ages to get it unscrewed underneath ! ive got a blanking plate to fit at the weekend any one know how much louder it will get ?
I wouldn't have thought it'd get any louder. The blanking plate is just so you can remove the recirc and blank the hole it came out of?.
Still connected at the moment but ive got a blanking plate to fit i just didnt have time i couldnt resist getting the valve on and having a listen. i thought with some air still re circing it would be quieter than if it had a blank of because the pressure would be lower
Aye the hose that goes comes off the recirc blank it and then see what it's like then u can for the blanking plate when u get time
good luck with the blanking plate!! i gave up on mine in the end as i couldn't get to one of the 10mm bolts its in the most awkward places!
Ive got some pretty small spanner and some good socket extensions so it should be ok might take off the airbox to turbo hose for a bit more acess of i struggle how can i blank that hose jamie just cramp it or something ?
Aye just fold the hose over and cable tie it so it's blanked or put a bolt in or somthn and that's it blanked
Aha! Didn't realise you still had the recirc connected. Will probably be louder when you get rid of that as at the moment your only dumping half the air out of each dump valve in theory.
Well that's the idea. Recirc dump valves recirculate the air instead of venting to atmosphere. They are supposed to be quiet. I think you can hear it if you have an induction kit.
Re circ makes a sqealing sound if you open your winding and put your fut down you will hear it i got a nix of the two atm i think the air goes back into the airbox to turbo pipe to be reused with the re circ but the dump valve just releases to the air to the atmosphere
Fitted the blanking plate today and wouldn't you know it I've managed to drop the bottom bolt couldn't find it anywhere anyone know what thread it is and how long is it m8 ? Just been out with my missus " your cars making a funny noise when you change gear " me yeah its always been like that insert brief explanation of how a turbo works an the need for it to get rid of unused boost pressure and you must have never noticed it before cause i normally have radio louder lol
ha ha i did the same errm its to save the turbo from blowing is it loud enough for you? mine is pretty loud in the morning or when cold
Yep I drove home from work on and off boost the whole way love it lol I need a black boost hose and some vacuum pipe tho as I don't like blue it doesn't suit my car I wanted a black forge with black pipes but I bought the nearly new one of Andy evanescence 225 at half the price of the forge kit so can't really complain I'll just keep my eye out for any goin cheap I'm wanting to buy the samco ancillary hose pack anyway
Oh I have some 630 injectors to vet put in at map time but its £600 at RS + fuel ECT so I am looking at having to save up £700 tax due this month! Clutch needs doing, FCS to book, tracks to get booked and on track worthy tires to get!! I shall stop there as I have a tear in my eye!!
You should have got one on that group buy last week I want all black samco hoses or forge whatever I come across first
I would like them to match, although I did buy a viper one when they popped up here but blue was out of stock so got a refund, and I ant got the cash yet for map also rang to see if I was too late to jump on and I was :'(

Nothing really performance wise apart from DVD and blanking plate and it's got ktec black edition brake pads and ferodo ds 2500 pads on I'm not happy with theese though I'm thinking of braided lines new pads not sure which new fluid etc I only got it in October it was bog standard I'm only going stage one I was gonna put a new exhaust on but can't afford it before the map so having second thoughts now
