250 Check ABS

  1. My check ABS light came on. I plugged in CLIP and on the ESP COMPUTER It first showed

DTC402012 - PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT - Short circuit to the battery

then later it changed to the following after I tried to activate it.

DTC402071 - PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT - Actuator jammed

And I have some other errors that are randomly all referring to short circuit to ground. Everything else is working fine so how can I diagnose any short circuit?

  2. Sounds like the electronic module on the ABS pump has failed mate.

  3. Where is the electronic module on the ABS pump located, can it be replaced by itself as a DIY? Reading the diagnostics section it says Check 50A F6 fuse - component 777. Anyone know where this fuse is located?

  4. It’s the black control unit attached to the ABS pump. Not an easy job to replace. They normally fail due to ingress of water if the windscreen scuttle drains become blocked and overflow onto the unit. 2ACB2762-F267-44D3-92C4-2D999BF980A9.jpeg

  5. I checked the 50amp fuse that is supposed to be powering the ABS pump and that fuse is fine. According to the diagnostics I am supposed to place a 21W bulb on the connector that goes to the pump, on pins 13 and 14. (Pin 14 is Earth and Pin 13 is the wire coming from the 50A fuse) and Force the vehicle's + after ignition feed and see if the bulb illuminates. That will determine if power is coming to the pump. Question is for me to do this, Do I need to remove the connector completely from the Pump Electronic Unit? The connector is in a tight place covered by some lining and I don't know how to remove this connector. Any ideas?
