Ive had a little thread search but can't find anything. If I fit a cat back (probably Scorpion) what power gains do you get? I remember reading something somewhere about 5bhp. Do power gains depend on other engine mods? Cheers
I wouldn't expect any power gains from a cat back alone. The cat is the restrictive part do you'd need to remove/replace that for power gains.
A cat-back will make extremely little difference what so ever until you decat the car, if there's a company claiming BHP gains I would take them as a pinch of salt. Once you've removed the factory cat for a decat pipe or a sports cat then a cat-back system becomes a lot more important as the standard exhaust is quite restrictive but not as restrictive as the standard cat. A system is only as good as it's weakest point
Fair enough. I actually want to keep the cat from a not polluting the planet kinda way even though I own 2 cars and a motorbike. Call it the Jamiroquai school of environmentalism. A cat back will just sound better than oem right?
