So are we up to 6 now? They have confirmed the price could be lower if there are more ordered!! Also confirmed Lead Time is 4 to 5 weeks.
They list a Clío 172/182 bonnet at £575 on their website. They don’t have a mould for the Megane so guess it won’t be lower than the Clío one. I am going to ask if we had 10 people what would it be.

Just out of interested have they given a weight estimate? I’m thinking (with a little searching online) the standard bonnet is around 12kg? With the R26R being 4-5kg? Correct me if I’m wrong Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I saw a post on Turborenault which had a breakdown of weight savings. The R26.R bonnet was - 7 kgs less. Polycarbonate windows (all 3) was - 5.5 kgs Rear Seat and seatbelts delete - 35 kgs Carbon seats - 35 kgs Titanium exhaust - 9 kgs Sound deadening, Airbag, Fog lights and headlight washers - 35 kgs
Yep thanks matey those were similar to the figures I was thinking. Just wondering how close this remake of the carbon bonnet will get to that 4/5kg mark? If there’s different lay up techniques etc that will improve weight reduction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok, so Carbonzilla have replied to say the Bonnet should weigh similar to the R26/R one, maybe a little bit lighter!!!

Carbon fibre wont exist by the time we get 8 members The thing is, as soon as all the bonnets are made, we'll have hundreds more turn up asking to join.
I can find out, we only have 7 people interested though, and only 6 are ok to order by the looks of it. @Poppaboost would like tog see a finished bonnet first.
I’m happy to do a second one to get this moving. I anticipate I’ll probably get a tidy return on the spare in due course!

Right, Carbonzilla have confirmed they will honour the price even with just 7 deposits! No idea how these things work, assume we all send our deposits direct to them with Address details for delivery... Hoping to speak to them next week. They are closing over Christmas.
