  1. Any help would be good, car feels like something is loose on the front right. Then turning just off centre the car will pull to either the left or right. Is this the tie rod ends? Or steering rack bushes? Or anything else you guys have had done?

  2. I had a similar problem a while ago. One of the bolts on the OS bottom arm had come loose

  3. Loose steering rack bolts?

Needs looking at really - Anything been done recently?

Check tyres for tread depth, pressures and then move on to suspension and steering joints looking for signs of movement.

  5. Ill check the bottom arm, and the steering rack bolts. Is there any trick to it for the steering rack bolts. What tools will i need??

  6. In regards to work done. Its had new discs and pads on the front along with the anti roll bard changed in the last 3 months. Tires are only a couple of months old

  7. It could be rack bushes, track rod ends or inner tie rods , getting it checked will be the best thing to prevent you wasting money tho. My car was twitching so took it in and had the rack bushes replaced. Handling is so much more solid and the drive home was a riot

  8. Think i might just buy the lot at least then I know that Ive done it. Is it worth upgrading to poly bushes on the steering rack?

Is it under hard acceleration

  10. No its when your turning just off centre feels like something is loose. Then the car pulls violently to the way your turning

  11. Think i am going to get a mechanic to have a look as its pretty important and dont really want to mess about with it. Unless any of you are around Newcastle area and fancy a look??

  12. Which one is the steering rack bush? I think I am having the same problem here

  13. It's the bush fitted on the near side behind the inner tie rod. Literally supports the steering rack as it comes out of its housing, keeps it centre. Changed mine yesterday and to be fair I didn't need it. Now the steering notchy by which I presume is down to a tight bush. On my other car I had lots of play there so the bush was needed. 125k and 168k respectively.

  14. It was the offside steering rack bolt had worked loose. Which put extra pressure on the tie rods. Not too expensive but at least it wasnt the rack itself.
