Car feels loose/not tight after new tyres

  1. Hi Guys,

I replaced two tyres on my 265 with some brand new Michelin pilot sport 4s, new ones were bald so moved the old ones to the front and the brand new ones to the back.

Now my old tyres that are now at the front have around 3-4mm tread left, maybe a few months of usage- im planning to replace them soon.

But the difference from handling before the new ones were fitted and now is night and day. The car feels loose, I don't have much confidence in corners and it is wheel spinning a lot more than usual.

I've driven around 500 miles on the new ones , so sure they should be worn in by now??

    cheers

  2. I did the same thing a few weeks ago. The new tyres have much more tread than the old ones so the blocks can move around a bit more. You should still have more grip (especially in the wet), but it might feel less sharp. You'll get that with most tyres I think.

  3. I think it's more to do with the old rear tyres now being in the front.

Rotated my PSS front to back and the car has noticeably less grip.. slides around over all 4 tyres where it used to just be 'on rails'
